Madeline (Cookie) Allen's Obituary
Madeline (Cookie) Allen, age 79, of Memphis, passed away in the comfort of her own home on September 4, 2021. She was born on August 1, 1942 in Detroit to the late Clif and Madeline Allen. She lived in several cities growing up. Cookie had many talents and was an amazing artist. Some included quilting, gardening, sewing, knitting, stamping, painting, and collecting antiques. She enjoyed working at Sew Elegant Quilt Shop with her friends until she retired in 2012 at the age of 70.
She is survived by her four children, Veronica Carmody, Elizabeth Zurakowski (Tony Askew), Joseph (Laurie) Nickelson, Jennifer Kortas-Sutton; nine grandchildren, Heidi (Jeff) Yaek, Benjamin Zurakowski, Sean (Chrystal) Carmody, Ashley (Josh) Fye, Kaila (Brad) Champaigne, Courtney (James) Newsome, Bradley & Ashton Sutton; eleven loving great grandchildren, Conor, Lily & Aiden Carmody, Madeline, Elaine & Bryce Yaek, Eli Zurakowski, Reese & Sammy Fye, Landon & Leighlah Newsome.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Bill, Don & Joe Allen, and her loving grandson Matthew Peter Zurakowski.
