Lynda Lee Klemmer's Obituary
Lynda Lee Klemmer, age 74, of China Twp., died peacefully Monday March 6th at River District Hospital. Lynda was born August 30, 1942, the daughter of Vincent Charles Klemmer and Verna Mary Gorham Klemmer.
Lynda was raised by her grandparents Charles Joseph Otto Klemmer and Theresa Skinner Klemmer on their farm on Big Hand Rd. in St. Clair Twp. and lived her entire life in St. Clair Twp. until moving to China Twp. several years ago. Her parents and grandparents both predeceased her.
Lynda attended Big Hand School, a one room school, and graduated from St. Clair High School in 1961. Lynda worked many jobs throughout her life. She worked a long period of time at Groff’s Drug Store, Murphy’s Inn and most recently, until her illness, for a contract cleaning company at Detroit Edison Belle River Plant, all located in and around St. Clair.
Lynda’s interests were always centered around animals. She was an avid and accomplished birder, especially enjoying trips to such birding “hot spots” as Point Pelee, Ontario. She greatly loved her pet cats, particularly her last one, Rusty. She had many pet ducks and geese and had enjoyed teaching horse care at a St. Clair 4-H group. Lynda enjoyed going to dog training classes with a succession of dogs she helped to raise.
Funeral services will be Saturday March 11th at 11:30 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visitation will be Friday 3 to 5 p.m.
