Loretta Stella Zamborowski's Obituary
Loretta Stella Zamborowski, age 94, Of Cottrellville Twp., peacefully went to be with her Lord on June 11, 2023, in the comfort of her own home with her family by her side. She was born in Detroit, on June 11, 1929 to the late Stanley and Walerya Malkowski. Loretta worked as a supervisor at Central Records of local banks for several years. Loretta was a longtime, active member at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. She worked bingo for over 50 years, counted church collections, and participated in bible study groups. She was a devoted Catholic, and her longtime favorite was St. John Paul II. Loretta truly cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
Starting in 1964, she hosted the family's annual Wigilia, which is a meatless, Polish Christmas Eve dinner. Loretta loved to host gatherings and play games. She was an extremely talented cook who knew how to make the best polish food, from Pierogi, Golabki, Kielbasa, polish pork chops, polish hamburgers and on. She taught many in her family how to cook. In her spare time, Loretta enjoyed looking out her front window, watching the boats and freighters go by. At the age of 93, she was the Maid of Honor in her best friend, Joannie’s wedding. Loretta will forever be remembered as a lady who loved her family, and who was true to her faith.
She is survived by her children, Valerie Harrington D.O., Gerald (Debbie Milbreath) Zamborowski J.D., Dennis Adam (James Randall Thomas) Zamborowski, Don (Max) Zamborowski, John (Faith) Zamborowski; beloved Busia of, Chris (Sarah) Zamborowski, Melanie (Paul) Mysliwiec, Nick Zamborowski, Derek (Laura) Zamborowski, Tim (Stacy) Zamborowski; great grandchildren, Madelyn and Emma Mysliwiec.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Eddy, Bruno, and Bill Wysocki; and Uncle, Phil Lewandowski.
A funeral mass will be on Saturday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Visiting hours will be Friday, June 16th at Young Funeral Home, China Twp from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. There will also be visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at church, prior to mass.
