Lois Anne Fordt's Obituary
Lois Anne Fordt, age 92, of East China, passed away in the comfort of her own home with family by her side on November 27, 2024. She was born on April 27, 1932 in San Francisco, CA to the late Wilbour and Clara Henderson.
Lois married Donald Fordt on June 19, 1950. Don preceded her in death in 2021.
Lois proudly stayed at home raising her children. When the kids were older, she began working at Lalonde’s Party Store. Following her time at the party store, Lois went on and worked at Paul’s True Value Hardware Store until her retirement. Lois was an active member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair, assisting with meals for funeral luncheons. Lois and Don enjoyed trips to the casino together as well as the polka boosters. She cherished trips to the family cabin in Lewiston with her husband and spending time with the family. Later in life, Lois would find peace in looking out the window and watching the birds.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Dave) Shovan, Marietta (Rob) Holt, Donn Fordt, Traci (Steve) Gillman, Julie (Brian) Roy, Jonn (Denise) Fordt; grandchildren, Jody, Jamie, Becky, Lindsay, Ashley, Nathan, Chelsea, Tyler, Heather, Eric and Tera; great grandchildren, Austin, Carter, Ali, Jordan, Ashley, Emmett, Reece, Mackayla and Braedon; great great grandchildren, Grayson and Hailey.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Teri Fordt; siblings, Helen Burmann, Thomas Henderson, Ethel Myny The family wants to give a special thank you to Lois's outstanding caregivers, Jessica, Melanie, Susan, Sue, and Paula; as well as her hospice nurse Amber, aide, Tania, and especially Kate A. for all of their kindness, dedication and loving care for their mother. A funeral mass will be Friday, December 13, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Visiting hours will be Thursday, December 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. With a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Interment at Rosehill Cemetery, East China.
