Linda S. McKay's Obituary
Linda S. McKay, age 72, of St. Clair, passed away in the comfort of her own home on July 26, 2025. She was born on April 10, 1953. Linda was raised in the Port Huron area where she was a graduate of Port Huron Northern High School, class of 1971. Linda began her working career at Sears, Port Huron, before becoming an insurance agent, where she worked diligently for 40 years, retiring from Allstate Insurance, St. Clair. Linda married Larry McKay on December 10, 1982. She was an avid gardener, who earned her Master Gardener Certificate from the State of Michigan. Linda and Larry enjoyed their time traveling the world. Whether it was for work, with friends or family- she was eager to explore with those she loved most. Linda would often be found walking or cycling, which reflected her commitment to a healthy lifestyle and love of the outdoors. Above all, Linda cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Larry McKay; daughters, Julie (Steve) Duenaz, Andrea (William) Rutledge, Shana McKay; grandchildren, Devon (Joel) Sleper, Dyllan (Victoria Collins) Duenaz, Dane Duenaz, Tyler (Sara Barr) Bajis, Madison Bajis; mother, JoAnn McKay; siblings, David (Kim) McKay, Cindy (Kevin) McGinniss, as well as several nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Melford McKay; and sister, Wendy Goodman.
Cremation arrangements with Young Funeral Home, China Twp. A celebration of life will take place at the St. Clair Golf Club on Saturday, August 9th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a time of reflection at 3:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Donor’s Choice in Linda’s honor.
