Mrs. Linda L. Conner's Obituary
Linda Lucile Conner, age 67, of Nashville, TN died June 14 following a courageous fight with lung cancer. She was born October 18, 1945, to parents Earl and Lucile Chartier of Marine City, MI.
Linda is survived by her husband Glen, brother Ken (Jenay) Chartier, sons Ryan (Kaska) and Bradley (Karin) Hill, five beloved grandchildren, former husband Michael Hill, numerous nieces and nephews, and some very special cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, who both passed away earlier this year.
Linda grew up in the downriver area, becoming the youngest nurse in Michigan at the tender age of 19.
She worked as an RN for years in both a hospital and home health setting, transitioning to administration and mentoring many of the next generation of caregivers.
Only 40 years late, she married her college sweetheart Glen in 2010. They enjoyed many of life’s pleasures together, including a witty sense of humor, visits to the ocean, good food and travel. She was especially excited about her first opportunity for international travel when Glen took her to Italy in 2011.
One of Linda’s consummate life goals was to bring family and friends together, which she will be doing one last time for her funeral services, to be conducted Saturday June 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, East China. Visiting hours are Friday June 21 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Starville.
For those considering a donation in Linda’s name, the family suggests these be made to the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, to further the work of eradicating this disease and comforting families who are likewise affected by it. www.youngcolonial.com
