Lewis "Louie" Andrew Gotham's Obituary
Lewis Andrew Gotham (better known as Louie or Papa), age 80, passed away on May 25th, 2021. He was born on December 2, 1940 in Douglas, MI to the late Fred and Cornelia Gotham. Louie proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy from October, 1960 – October, 1964. Louie was on the U.S.S Saratoga where he served as an electrician. After serving in the Navy, Louie went on to become a Union Electrician where he worked on building pumping stations for a pipeline that is now known as Enbridge. They appreciated his work so much that they hired him. He became an electrical supervisor and was in charge of multiple pumping stations for the next 27 years. Louie retired at the age of 60 and enjoyed almost 21 years or retirement. Louie loved his family and he never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, it didn’t matter if he just met you, or if he had known you for years, he was always there to help. He would always say “If I can make someone laugh or smile, then I did my job.” His ability to make people laugh and his sense of humor will truly be missed.
Louie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Gotham; children, Gary (Stacey) Gotham, Melissa (Mike) Jenuwine; grandchildren, Rochelle Gotham, Breanne Gotham, Lindsey (Javan) Edwards, Tyler Luncford, Courtney Jenuwine; great grandchildren, Jordan, Rosaleigh, Dax; sisters, Caroline (Fred) Seyforth, Norma Greene, as well as several nieces and nephews.
