LeRoy Zweng's Obituary
LeRoy Zweng, age 74, of East China Twp. died June 28, 2009.
He was born December 19, 1934 in Marine City to the late Stanley and Viola Zweng.
On August 24, 1957 LeRoy married Anne Recor in Marine City.
He was retired from Michigan Bell and Selfridge Air National Guard.
He was a member of Holy Cross Church, Southeastern Michigan Conservation Club, Marine City Fire Dept., and Knights of Columbus Council #856 of Marine City.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Anne Zweng.
Daughters; Kathy (Bob) Steward, Karen Butcher, Mary Beth (David) Slis, and LeAnn (Daryl) Schweiger.
Grandchildren; Kristopher, Brian, Joshua, Adam, Amanda, Mariah, Jeremy, Haley, and Justin.
Sisters; Joyce (Robert) Thompson and Elaine Schweihofer.
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother in law Jim Schweihofer.
LeRoy enjoyed his family and grandchildren. He spent his time gardening, fishing, and playing cards with his friends and family.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Church, Marine City.
Visiting hours are Wednesday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China Twp. and Thursday 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to mass.
A rosary will be said Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Marine City Fire Dept. or Holy Cross Activities Center.
