Leroy John Schneider's Obituary
Leroy John Schneider, age 81, of Marine City, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home one September 25, 2024 with his wife by his side. He was born on March 14, 1943 to the late Roy and Mary Schneider. Leroy was a graduate of Marine City High School, class of 1962. Following high school, he honorably served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. Leroy married Joan Spencer on July 17, 1971. He worked for Diamond Crystal for over 30 years. Leroy was an avid fisherman. He would fish on Lake St. Clair every morning before work. Leroy, his dad, and children also fished many hours on the mouth of the Belle River. He also enjoyed going to the target range with his brother-in-law, Roy Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Dawn (Rick) Nichol, Jodie Taylor, Richard Schneider, Amy (Lee) Parkison, Daniel Schneider; grandchildren, Nathan, Travis, Tyler, Rick, Danielle, Eric, Stephanie, Jeff, Jacob; siblings, Joan Wyss, Jeanette Johnson, David (Sharon) Schneider, as well as sever nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanna Sutton; and grandson, Joel Collins.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 3rd at 12:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment and military honors will take place following the service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Marine City. Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family.
