Leona Marie Verhaeghe's Obituary
Leona Marie Verhaeghe, age 84, of China Twp., passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 9, 2020. She was born November 6, 1936 in Belgium to the late Alberic and Leotina Goddyn. She was a loving, devoted wife of 58 years to George J. Verhaeghe. To whom she married on October 13, 1962. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. In her younger years Leona enjoyed dancing. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, and especially cherished the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her husband, George; children, Dale (Karen) Verhaeghe, Jack Verhaeghe, Denise Verhaeghe-Syzak, Dave (Kristina) Verhaeghe, grandchildren, great grandchildren; siblings, Joe Goddyn, Lucy Deckers, as well as many family members and friends.
