Grandpa you were the clue holding the family together. Although we all knew when grandma left you were ready to go with her. I’m so grateful that I was lucky enough to call you my grandpa. The memories you gave all us grandchildren growing up our memories we will pass onto our kids. You may have like to scar us but we look back and laugh at it now. Up north created even more memories. Grease. Dirty Dancing. The fire pit, the swing, the store down the road. Memories none of us will ever forget. I’m so glad Brayden got to know you and grandma and I know you were always so proud of your athlete. I love and miss you so much. Give grandma a huge hug from us and tell my grandpa foster hi for me! I’ll be looking for those signs from you I’m sure you’ll send plenty!

I remember when I was about 10 years old at a hall wedding reception Uncle Larry asked me to go the kitchen to get a salt shaker. I thought that was strange since the food had not yet been served. Upon my return he took it and gave it a couple shakes in to his beer! Besides the foam it generated, to this day I have no idea why he did that but was to afraid to ask at the time!! I think all the nephews would agree, Uncle Larry in his prime was an intimidating individual to a 10 year old! As we aged it became clear he was just a quiet gentle soul who at that time only spoke when he had something interesting to say or add to the conversation. Larry, Julie, Chris and Jackie, I am so sorry for your loss, but I am sure Aunt Jackie is taking care of him now. He was the last matriarch of the Grandpa and Grandma Rice family line and I would argue an end of an era.
