Laura Jean Bramlett's Obituary
Laura Jean Bramlett, age 47, passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2026. She was born on August 30, 1978, to Christine (Michael T.) Bramlett-Hawes and the late Donald Bramlett. Laura was a graduate of Marine City High School, class of 1997. She earned her Bachelors Degree from the University of Michigan in business. Then went on and obtained several certifications in health services. Laura began working at CMH, starting as a peer support specialist. Through hard work and dedication, in 5 years with the company, Laura earned the promotion to Case Manager. Laura was selfless and dedicated numerous hours volunteering her time working with various recovery focused groups. Most notably Crossroads Recovery Community and NAMI in Port Huron. In her spare time, Laura was an avid reader as well as Greys Anatomy fan. Laura enjoyed the outdoors, from camping trips and kayaking to going on walks. She loved being active. Laura was also a music enthusiast who appreciated all genres as well as attending plays. However, above all, Laura cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her children. Her passionate soul, sense of humor, and witty personality will be deeply missed. She will always be remembered as a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her children, Colin Bramlett, Gabriella Bramlett, Cecilia Bramlett; mother, Christine Bramlett-Hawes; siblings, Tracy Kreutzer, Kimberly (Chris) Provost, Jennifer (Steve Minano) DeSnyder, Michael Hawes, Sean (Lisa) Hawes, Mathew Hawes, as well as several special family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Michael T. Hawes; niece, Haile Lin Franquist; grandmother, Helen Jane Somerville; aunt, Carol Somerville.
A brief funeral service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
