Kevin D. Kammer's Obituary
Kevin D. Kammer, age 57, of Algonac, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home with his wife, Tanya, dear friends, and family by his side on April 18, 2023, after battling pancreatic cancer.
Kevin was born February 13, 1966 to Margaret and Donald Kammer in Mt. Clemens. He was the only 2 sport athlete that received Athlete of the Year at Marine City High School. After graduating from Marine City High School in 1984, Kevin went on to work in Underground Construction. A job he absolutely loved, he’d say “It’s not work when you love what you do!”. Kevin enjoyed spending time with friends and family, going fishing and hunting, and being up north at the cabin.
In 1997, Kevin fell in love with the love of his life, Tanya, and they married in 1999. Although no children of their own, there was one, Sam Desnyder, who is like a son to them and they loved more than anything. Along with Sam (Karly), they also have a much loved Godson, Randy Kammer, who is a huge part of their life and nephew, Mikey Desnyder, who is very special to them. Some other very important nephews are Timmy Desnyder, Jack Kammer, Howie McCollom and niece, Maria McCollom.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Tanya Kammer; brothers, Keith (Maria) Kammer, Kurt (Michele) Kammer, Kris Kammer and sister, Kim (Brad) Velfling, along with many other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many dear friends that meant the world to him.
Kevin was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Kammer, mother-in-law Sally Newkirk and father-in-law, Jack Newkirk.
Kevin’s wishes were to have No service of any kind. He asks everyone to remember the good times shared and not dwell on him passing.
