Kenneth J. Westrick's Obituary
Kenneth J. Westrick, age 94, of China Twp., passed away August 27,2025. He was born March 31, 1931 on the family farm to the late Raymond and Mary Westrick.
In the late 1940s, he sailed on the Great Lakes on the steamer James E Ferris before serving in the Korean War in the Army Corps of Engineers, 1952–1953. He had a long career as a residential home builder, building more than 350 homes in the St. Clair County area. In his later years, he enjoyed mowing the lawn. Literally, like every day.
He is survived by daughter Carol Grant, Porto, Portugal, sons; Kenneth (Anna) Medellin, Colombia, Thomas and Joseph, St. Clair, and stepdaughter Carol Wilson, St Clair. He has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda L. Westrick, his second wife, Barbara J. Westrick, son; Brian Westrick, and daughter-in-law, Renee Westrick (Gryszkiewicz).
Also survived by his sister; Kathleen Distelrath, brothers; Vern (Margie) Westrick, Alfred Westrick, Jack (Alice) Westrick and sister in-laws; Gail Westrick and Mary Louise Westrick, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister; Joyce Cooley and brothers; Raymond, Leo, Edward, Lloyd, Ervin, Alvoy and Marvin Westrick.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Rosary will be Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.
