Kenneth Lee Canode's Obituary
Kenneth Lee Canode of St. Clair, MI passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2023. Ken was born on December 2, 1947 in Marysville, Ohio. Following high school, Ken proudly served in Vietnam with the United States Air Force. He began his career in law enforcement as an Alpena County Sheriff’s Deputy and continued his service within the Memphis and Algonac Police Departments, retiring as the Chief of Police from Clay Township Police Department in 1998.
Ken is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janet Canode; children Jeannine LaBuhn-Giannosa, Jesse & Courtney LaBuhn, Jenna & Jason Duetsch, Devon Canode, Jillian Canode & Adam Clifford. He was the proud Grandpa to Jax & Julia Giannosa, Mackenzie, Blake & Easton LaBuhn, Gage, Tobin & Stella Duetsch & Attica Canode.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Myrtle Canode and brother, Chuck Canode, all of Ohio.
A private visitation for family and close friends will be held on June 26, 2023 from 2-4pm at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Military Honors will be conducted at 4pm. Cremation and internment at Rosehill Cemetery will take place at a later date.
