Keith David Muxlow's Obituary
Former State Representative, Keith David Muxlow, age 84, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2017. He was born October 12, 1933 in Burnside Twp. to the late Caleb and Merle (Stimson) Muxlow.
Keith was a graduate of Brown City High School and attended Michigan State University, studying agriculture economics. Keith honorably served his country with the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 as a Radio Operator in Okinawa, Japan. He partnered with his brother, Arnold, at the Muxlow Dairy Farm in Brown City for 25 years and also was co-owner and manager of the Brown City Industrial Park. Keith’s service to his community was never ending. He served eight years, 1972 to 1980, as the Mayor of Brown City. He was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives and served six terms (1980 to 1992) for the 78th District and served as minority leader. He was also a former Executive Director of the Michigan Corn Growers Assoc. where he assisted with the development of the first ethanol plant in Michigan and visited Pacific Rim Countries to promote Michigan corn. As a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Clair he formerly served as an elder. Keith was very proud to have organized erecting the veteran memorials in both Brown City and Yale. One of the many hats Keith also wore was one of a licensed realtor. He also enjoyed piloting his Cessna plane on hunting, fishing and golfing trips. With such a rich community life, Keith still was able to be an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His family would always be his greatest accomplishment.
