Kathleen Barczi's Obituary
Kathleen Barczi, age 78, of China Township, went home to be with her Lord, January 15, 2026. She was born May 22, 1947 in Detroit to the late Raymond and Lottie Hewalt.
As a young girl, Kathy was raised on a farm in Brown City. When she was a teenager her family moved to Warren, Michigan and she would graduate from Center Line High School. On October 5, 1968, Kathy married Roger Barczi and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage.
Kathy missed living in the country, so her and Roger moved to the country and Kathy could pursue her love of horses. They owned many horses over the years and enjoyed horse drawn carriage and sleigh rides. She was also a longtime active member of Crossroads Community Church in China Township. Kathy’s true passion was her role as a loving homemaker to her family. She always looked forward to entertaining her family and friends.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Roger Barczi; children, Richard Barczi and Becky Barczi; grandchildren, Courtney, Katie and James; sister, Linda Hewalt; brother, Daniel (Judy) Hewalt; adopted daughter, Veronica Solomon and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Hewalt.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 20th at 1:00 p.m. at Crossroads Community Church, China Twp. Visiting hours will be prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m at church.
