Katherine Ward Nielsen, age 51, of Marine City, died January 26, 2013. She was born May 13, 1961 in Marine City. On October 8, 1985 Kathy married Paul Nielsen. Kathy, an honest and good woman, loved cooking for family and friends. She also loved chugging for walleyes.
She is survived by her husband; Paul Nielsen, son; Phillip Roy Ward (Corinne Ganfield), granddaughters; Ryleigh Grace, Alexandra Emily and Ava Elizabeth Ward, mother; Ardith (Major Thomas) Parkinson, step-daughters; Tammy (Scott) Hudolin and Tonya Byerly, grandchildren; Jeremy and Katelyn Byerly, siblings; Charles and Harvey Ward, Betty Long, Jim (Gail) Ward, Dave (Gloria) Ward, Mark (Karen) Ward, Guy Ward, Clarence (Kathy) Ward, Stanley (Crystal) Ward, Margaret (Larry) Burgess and Bill (Julie) Ward, sister in law; Joyce Ward and beloved companion Hersey. She will dearly missed by many more family and friends.
She was preceded in death by father; Stanley Ward, brother; Harold Ward, nephew; Harley Ward, niece; Crissie Tucker, sister in law; Ann Ward and brothers in law; Erv Long and Jack Gerow.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
