Karen Marie Smith's Obituary
Karen M. Smith, age 63, of Clinton Twp., formerly of Ft. Gratiot and St. Clair, passed away May 25, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 22, 1952 in St. Clair to the late
Leo and Rosie Distelrath.
She married Gary Smith on June 9, 1979 in Port Huron. She was a very active member of the Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 for 33 years. She enjoyed playing golf and cards. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years; Gary Smith, daughters; Jodi (Chad) Ewald, Shannon (Kevin) Jenkins, Stephanie (Chris) Caton, and Jennifer (Rob) Balmer, grandchildren; Hudson, Jake, Grace, Hannah, and Madelynn.
She is also survived by her brothers and sisters; Ron (Mary) Distelrath, Leo (Anne) Distelrath, Ed (Paula) Distelrath, Eileen (Chip) Fitzgerald, Bev (Mark) Weingartz, Sandy (Dave) Barnum, Lisa (Joe) Meyers, brothers and sisters in law; Rob (Diana) Smith, Bonnie (Bill) Harris, Lori Marzoff and many nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and many, many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by sister; Ruth Ann Distelrath, nephew; Kyle Thueme, father and mother in-law; Don and June Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4 at the Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 . Arrangements by Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
