Karen M. McCoy's Obituary
Karen M. McCoy, age 63, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 13, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 17, 1955 to the late Stanley and Dolores Kowalski. Karen attended Osborn High School. On August 24, 1973 she married William “Bill” McCoy. Karen was an avid sports enthusiast. She loved to play softball, golf, bowl, and basketball. She liked watching the Detroit Tigers, and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, William “Bill”; children, Michael (Wendy) and Steve (Jamie) McCoy; grandchildren, Makayla, Brendan, Tyler, Jaiden, and Taylor; sister, Lori Methven; father and mother-in-law, William and Ruth McCoy; sister-in-law, Dawn Kowalski; brothers-in-law, Kevin (Theresa), Dave (Debbie), and Randy (Cheryl) McCoy, as well as many special family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Greg Kowalski; brother-in-law, Bob Methven; and nephew, John Kowalski.
A Funeral Mass will be Saturday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Visiting hours will be Thursday, May 16 5:00-8:00p.m. as well as Friday May 17, 2:00-8:00p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. A rosary will be recited at 5pm on Friday at the funeral home.
