Karen K. Lang's Obituary
Karen Kay (Mackley) Lang, age 67, of St. Clair, passed away November 11, 2022. She was born June 9, 1955 in St. Clair to the late George and Patricia Mackley. Karen was previously married to James Lang, of Capac, in 1976. She was a graduate of St. Clair High School class of 1973. Karen retired from River District Hospital after working there for over 25 years.
Karen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair as well as the Richmond Good Old Days Festival Board where she held numerous positions over the past 30 years. She was previously involved with the Richmond High School Athletic Boosters and the Richmond Girls Softball Association. Her passions included sewing, watching sports and crafting.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Christine (Jeremy) Griffis, Tiffany (Darren) Palmer; grandchildren, Gracie and Mackley Griffis, Evan, Samantha and Ryder Palmer; sisters Diane Pederson, Patty (Tim) Shine; brother Mike (Annmarie) Mackley, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother in law, Roy Pederson and niece, Carrie (Shine) Kerbrat.
Per Karen’s wishes a private funeral service will take place followed by cremation, and burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, St. Clair. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the non-profit organization Shine On Me Inc. at www.shinekids.org To leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com
