June P. LeTarte's Obituary
June P. LeTarte passed away on Friday June 15, 2018 at the beautiful age of 92. June was born in Westbrook Maine March 17th 1926 to Cecil & Antonia McAloney. June was a loving wife to Walter Gibson LeTarte for 61 Years.
June was preceded in death by her husband Walter Gibson LeTarte and her oldest of 7, Richard Walter LeTarte and granddaughter Cynthia Smith.
June was a professional Mother raising 7 children over a span of roughly 35 years. June was an avid volunteer for various functions over the years including time as an Occupational Therapist at Faith Medical center.
June was a pure and honest person with everyone she ever met. She was always first to forgive and always last to take credit. June was an expert BINGO aficionado and a regular at Arena Gardens, roller skating.
June was our families Queen of “New England Thrift” sewing cloths, mending cloths, knitting sweaters, making gifts and seasonal ornaments from things most would have discarded.
June is survived by 6+1 remaining children and their spouses, Richard & Ann LeTarte, Michael & Vera LeTarte, Suzanne & Chuck (Smith), Daniel & Becky LeTarte, Patricia (Trisha) Laferver, Claudia & John (Kortz), Jennifer & Eric (Meyers). Along with this household June was the Grandmother to 16 grandchildren and a Great Grandmother to 27.
June will be greatly missed by many people young and old for so many reasons.
Visiting hours are Wednesday, June 20th, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday June 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Luncheon to follow at the Voyageur Restaurant, St. Clair.
