Mrs. Joyce May Whittaker's Obituary
Joyce May Whittaker 85, passed away Saturday April 26, 2014. She was born to Alfred and Gladys Kammer May 14, 1928. Joyce was the cornerstone of her family. She was a cherished member of St Peter's Lutheran Church where she served on numerous committees over the years and volunteered at the local Food Pantry. Joyce loved reading, gardening and most of all visits with her family. She married Russ Whittaker Feb 2 1946. She is survived by her daughters Vickie Mead, Lisa (Jack) Horn and sons Don (Ann) Whittaker and David (Mary) Whittaker; grandchildren Tammie (Jeff) Matthews, Bob (Lori) Mead, Kurt (Denise) Mead, Rusty Whittaker, Scott (Nikki) Whittaker, Don (Jen) Whittaker, Mandy (Andy) Mychek, Terri (Nate) Rosel, Cameo (Matt) Phelps, Jeffrey Ingles, Amanda (Dustin) Richardson, Ashten (Steven) Presnar and Alan (Kristen) Horn; great-grandchildren Amanda Matthews, Bobby, Josh & Logan Mead, Maddie & Morgan Mead, Lucas Whittaker, Donnie & Devin Whittaker, Whitney Whittaker, Ty & Lou Mychek, Bree & Addie Rosel, Tate & Jaxten Richardson, Ky, McKenna & Harper Horn, Colin, Parker & Corbin Presnar; siblings Jean/Marv Kettel, Bruce/Barb Kammer, Dixie Jones and sister-in-law Lil Kammer; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Russ on Oct 2, 1997; siblings Roland, Dale and Leonard Kammer and sister Norma Stuart. The family will receive guests at St Peter's Lutheran Church in St. Clair MI at 10 am Friday May 2nd followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11am in the Sanctuary. Cremation has taken place and family will hold a private ceremony at a later time in Kittridge Cemetery.
