Joyce M. Thompson's Obituary
Joyce M. Thompson, age 79, of Marine City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. She was born March 20, 1938 in Marine City to the late Stanley and Viola Zweng. She graduated from Holy Cross in 1956 and worked at Mercy Hospital as a surgery secretary. From there she went on to work with her husband as a bookkeeper for Blue Water Oil. She married Robert Thompson September 1, 1962. Joyce was an active member at Holy Cross Catholic Church in working the Holy Cross Charity Bingo.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Robert Thompson; Sister Elaine Schweihofer; Brother in law Norman Thompson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brother LeRoy Zweng.
Visitation will begin Thursday, July 20 2:00PM-8:00PM with a rosary at 7:00PM at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 21 at 11AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Our Lady on the River Parish, Marine City with a visitation one hour prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made out to Our Lady on the River Parish, Marine City.
