Joyce Beatrice Potton's Obituary
Joyce Beatrice Potton (nee Easter), passed away peacefully in the home of her daughter, January 17, 2026. Joyce was born October 24, 1926 in the Bermondsey district of London, England to William and Beatrice Easter.
Joyce was evacuated out of the London Blitz to the village of her future husband. Joyce and Bill Potton were married in Lee, England on March 8, 1947 and celebrated 75 years of marriage before Bill’s passing in 2022. Originally emigrating to Rochester, Michigan in 1957, they moved their home to Manistee upon retirement in the early 1980’s
Joyce focused on creating a comfortable, loving and supportive home for her husband and family. Throughout her long life she experienced many changes from war time to peace, new country and it’s challenges, changing lifestyles and technologies, but throughout it all she treasured and spoiled her family and her many friends through the years.
Joyce is predeceased by her parents, brother Laurence, sister Doris and husband Bill.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Potton, her niece Joan (Anthony) Westbrook, three great nieces and eight great-great nieces and nephews.
At Joyce’s request there will not be a public service and cremation has taken place.
