Mr. Joseph C. Hommel's Obituary
Joseph C. Hommel, age 84, of Marysville, formerly of St. Clair Shores, died June 13, 2012. He was born April 26, 1928 in Detroit. Joseph was a Korean War Veteran, one of the chosen few that was awarded the Silver Star. He was Past Commander of Bruce Post 1146 St. Clair Shores, member of the Marine Corp League where he also played baseball. He was also a member of American Legion Post 449 Marysville. Joseph was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his daughters; Connie (Bill) Laurence and JoAnn Zmick (John Livingston), grandchildren; Kevin, Amy, Billy, Danny and Kristie and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Maureen Hommel.
Funeral services will be Saturday June 16th at 10:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will follow in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Twp. at 12:00 noon. Visiting hours are Friday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Veterans Hospital.
