Jon C. McLane Sr.'s Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Jon C. McLane Sr., of Harsens Island, MI on June 25, 2022, at 1:30 PM, at the age of 82.
Jon was born on March 20, 1940 in St. Clair, MI. He resided on Harsens Island his entire life. Where he raised his children in the same house that he was raised in. Jon married the love of his life, Sharon M. McLane (Dalton), on September 9, 1961. They enjoyed their married life together for nearly 61 years.
Jon is preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Kathleen J. Stoll, his brother Orlo M. McLane Jr. and his parents Orlo M. McLane Sr. and Alice Mae McLane, and niece Dawn Harvey.
Jon will forever be remembered by his large family. He was the loving father to Jon (Tina) McLane Jr., Deborah (James) Walker, Curtis McLane, Kathleen (Maximillian) Stoll and foster daughter Laurie (Steve) Shumaker. He had the pleasure of having many grandchildren and great grandchildren; Amber (Matthew) Pollard, Connor, Hayden and Owen Pollard; Dalton McLane; Caleb (Laura) Walker, Fitz and Elsie Walker; Cord (Julia) Walker, Aria, Layla and Fynn Walker; Kelsey (Benjamin) Sharrow; Chase McLane; Kendall Stoll, Kaela Stoll, Khloee Stoll and Karlee Stoll. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Some that he considered as his very own children: William (Mary) Harvery and Donna (Jeffrey) Soulliere.
Jon was a hard working business man on Harsens Island for over 50 years. He was an honest, caring man that would stop to help anyone. Jon had a passion for hunting, fishing and trapping. But, most of all, he loved working on his machines and that’s where you could always find him. He lived a full life and was loved deeply by his family and friends.
We invite you to join our family for visitation on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, showing at 11:00 AM and service at 12:00 PM at the St. Paul’s Church - 208 Orchid Blvd., Harsens Island, MI 48028.
Flowers can be sent to Harsens Island Lions - 230 La Croix Rd., Harsens Island, MI 48028. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Paul’s Church or H.I. Lions.
