John T. Wagner's Obituary
John T. Wagner, age 77, of Marine City, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2023. John was born on April 20, 1946 to the late Cass and Madeline “Dolly” Wagner. He was a graduate of Marine City High School. Following high school, John went on to work for Detroit Gasket until they closed. After his time at Detroit Gasket, John stared his own business building pallets, which he did for several years. He married Lorraine Ross in Marine City on September 23, 1972. Lorraine preceded him in death on January 11, 2002. Before her passing, John and Lorraine were very involved in 4-H. John was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City, as well as an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 856. In his spare time John enjoyed playing cards as well as working on the family farm he grew up on. He was a giving man, who was always there to lend a helping hand. He was caring, he cared for his parents when they could no longer take care of themselves. His selfless personality and putting others needs before his own will be missed by all of his family and friends.
He is survived by his sister, Helen Biscorner as well as several special nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond “Whitey” Wagner and Donald Wagner.
A funeral mass will be on Tuesday, December 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Holt Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. There will be an hour of visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to mass.
