John Charles Shinske's Obituary
John Charles Shinske, age 79, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully at home December 7, 2023. He was born January 1, 1944 in St. Clair to the late Charles and Elizabeth Shinske. John married the love of his life Margaret Bezenah on September 12, 1964 at St. Mary's Church, St. Clair. He worked at DTE Edison as a Maintenance foreman for 38 years, retiring in 2002. He served as a volunteer fireman for the City of St. Clair for 11 years. He spent many Saturdays’ making sure all the windows and trucks were clean.
John loved washing cars, starting water fights and taking care of his yard. He loved his granddogs and watched them just about every day of the week. He always made sure to spoil them with his pocket full of treats. John loved driving through town beeping his horn and his morning coffees with his brother Jamie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret; children, Rob "John" Shinske, Christi (Paul) Schweihofer, Mike “who” (Cori Reed) Shinske; grandchildren, Michael Liddy, Conor (Emily) Schweihofer, Morgan (Brett) D'Andrea, Autumn (Masen) Hebel, Walker (Malori May) Schweihofer, Patience (Damien Karazim) Shinske, Tristen Shinske; 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Jamie (Linda) Shinske, Jan Shinske, Jeff (Linda Clute) Shinske.
Preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Louis (Rose) Bezenah; brother-in-law, Don Bezenah, Dave (Linda) Bezenah.
A pass and review will be done by the St. Clair Fire Department at 7:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service on Monday December 11, 2023 with visiting from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
