John "Jack" Lansky's Obituary
John “Jack” Lansky- St Clair, Twp. Age 73 died Thursday May 31, 2012.
Jack was born on October 6, 1938 in Detroit, MI. to the late John and Catherine (Locher) Lansky. He married Susan Patterson on January 26, 1963 in Detroit.
Jack graduated from All Saints High School in Detroit in 1956. Upon graduation, heproudly served his Country in the U.S Army for 2 years. After discharge from the Army, Jack attended Eastern Michigan University and obtained his associates degree.
Jack and Sue moved to St. Clair, MI in 1968, where Jack owned and operated his own surveying business for 40 years. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St.Clair. He served on the church cemetery board and was active with the Knights of Columbus. Jack’s passion was surveying which he remained an active part in up until the time of his death. Jack enjoyed not only his passion for his work, but playing cards, McDonald’s coffee, and spending time in his own back yard.
Jack is survived by his wife Sue of 49 years, his children Doug (Lisa) Lansky of Grand Haven, MI., Dennis (Vicki) Lansky of Marysville, MI., Suzanne (John) Bacon of Marysville, MI., and Sally (Bill) Ameel, China Twp, MI. 10 grandchildren, Karissa, Kyra and Kelsey Lansky, Michael, Stephen and Thalia Lansky, Jeffrey and Matthew Bacon, and Harrison and Olivia Ameel. He was preceded in death by his parents John Lansky and Catherine Power, and his infant daughter Elizabeth Lansky.
Funeral arrangements made by Young’s Funeral Home in China Township, Mi. Viewing will be Sunday June 3, from 2-4 and 6-9pm with a rosary being said at 6pm. Service will be Monday June 4th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clair. Jack will lie in state from 10-11am with a mass at 11:00am. Donations made to wishes of the family.
