John K. Ikera's Obituary
John K. Ikera, age 73, of Casco Twp., passed away peacefully on May 29, 2023 surrounded by the love of his family. He was born July 2, 1949 in San Bernardino, CA to the late John and Veronica Ikera.
He served in the United States Air Force Reserves for 6 years. He was part owner with his wife and brother of the accounting firm Total Business Services.
He was well know for rehabbing homes and collecting many treasures. John also cared for others who shared his same struggles. He was a leader and mentor of the Alcoholic Anonymous community for over 22 years. He enjoyed surfing and the ocean in his early years. He also enjoyed being out in nature, animals and music.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years; Evelyn Ikera, his children; Jessica (Chad) Blakely, John (Lilian) Ikera, Rebecca (Kevin) Congdon and Melissa (Jeremy) Fisher. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Carter, Sophia, Eleanor, Lucy and Vance, along with his brother; Gary Ikera and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 9 at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Marine City. There will be a memorial gathering will be one hour prior to service.
