John A. Amala's Obituary
John A. Amala, age 68, of Fort Gratiot, passed away peacefully October 27, 2024. He was born January 13, 1956, in Detroit to the late Marvin and Madeline Amala. John married the love of his Life Charlotte Hudock on May 7, 1982. He worked as a retail manager for Super K-Mart and retired after 20 Years.
John was always one to stay busy, he obtained his pilot’s license which he had for many years, he enjoyed riding his bike especially the Wadhams to Avoca trail. John took interest in history movies about WWII, sitting by the water watching the freighters go by, which he could tell you what ship carried what sort of material, and when not by the river he would watch the webcams of boats, trains, and farmers out west. He also loved woodworking, making model airplanes, telling stories about anything and everything, and playing cards at family get togethers.
John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Charlotte; children, Andrew (Jennifer) Amala, Megan (Fiancée Ryan Perini) Amala; grandsons, Jackson and Zachary Amala; sister-in-law, Nancy Amala, along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Patricia Lindner, Mark Amala and Terry Amala.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday November 3, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. with visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. To leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com
