Jody Whitis' Obituary
Jody Whitis, age 62, of Marine City, passed away peacefully in his home on December 8, 2023, following a long illness. Jody was born May 29, 1961 in Mt. Clemens to the late William and Catherine Whitis. On August 30, 1986 Jody married Sheila Robb.
Jody enjoyed many different sports, he was a longtime member of many different local pool leagues. He also played softball in the U.S. and Canada, and loved teaching his grandson, Brayden, about the game of baseball. Jody also had a great interest in motorcycle flat track racing. He loved cars too, his 1980 Camaro was his pride and joy. Jody also was an avid Detroit sports fan, but his devotion to his beloved Detroit Lions could not be matched. Most of all Jody loved creating memories with his family especially his grandchildren who he adored.
Jody is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sheila Whitis; sons, Eric (Crystal) Whitis and Kyle Whitis; grandchildren, Brayden and Grace Whitis; siblings, Christy (Bonnie) Whitis, Branda (Joe) Achatz, Keith (Bobbie) Whitehurst and Cory (Carissa) Whitis and many nieces and nephews and his best friend, Matthew Wesch.
In addition to his parents, Jody was predeceased by his brother, William B. Whitis, father in law and mother in law, Justin and Sally Robb; brother in law, Harold Robb and sister in law Laurie Schaaf.
