Jody Christopher Shovan's Obituary
Jody Christopher Shovan, age 53, of Marysville, unexpectedly passed away on July 11, 2026. Jody was born August 30, 1972, Fort Riley, KS, to David and Sharon (Fordt) Shovan. Jody graduated from St. Clair High School in 1991. Jody attended Siena Heights University. He enlisted in the Army in 1994 and was discharged in 2004 as an E6. In civilian life, he worked as an Aviation Technician. Jody is survived by his parents, David and Sharon Shovan; his brother, Jamie (Laurie) Shovan; and his sister, Rebecca (Russ) Barney. He is also survived by his children: Alexandria, Jordan, and Ashley; his nephews: Austin, Carter, and Reece along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as his emotional support animal, Rae, who was his constant companion for the last five years. Jody is preceded in death by his wife, Karen; his grandparents Robert and Marie Shovan and Donald and Lois Fordt; his uncles Robert and Vern as well as his aunt Teri. There will be no service. Cremation has already taken place. He will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Memorials may be made to St. Clair Community Mental Health.
