JoAnn Rose McColley's Obituary
JoAnn Rose McColley, age 78, of China, Michigan passed away surrounded by family July 7, 2022. She was born June 30, 1944, in Detroit to the late John and Germaine Jackson. JoAnn married David McColley on September 15, 1967. She was a paraprofessional with East China School District from 1985 until she retired in 2004. She spent all her time at Pine River Elementary with most of that time spent working in the library.
She enjoyed crafting, reading, and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 54 years, David; children - Cristine (Jim) Belt, Rebecca (Keith) Godin, Scott (Courtney) McColley; grandchildren - Christopher and Jacob Belt, Tanner Godin, Eloise and Isla McColley; siblings - Jeff Jackson, James Jackson, Julayne (Frank) Czyz; brother and sister in laws - Ardena Springer, Donald McColley, and Ruzica Jakšic, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brothers - Jovan Jakšic, Jerome Jackson; brother and sister in laws - Millie McColley, Clare and Joan McColley, Lloyd & Joan McColley, Wayne & Betty McColley, Max McColley, Rosalee and Everett Carlson, and Elaine McColley.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, July 24th at the Anchor Bay Lions Clubhouse – 9200 Short Cut Road, Ira Twp., MI 48023 from 11a – 4p.
