Joan Ann Joachim's Obituary
Joan Ann Joachim, age 88, of St. Clair, passed away December 31, 2019. Joan was born October 8, 1931 in St. Clair to the late George and Myrtle Brinker. Her mother died unexpectedly following child birth and she was raised by Richard and Hazel Boucher.
Joan graduated from St. Clair High School. Following graduation she worked for Diamond Crystal Salt Company. She married Harry “Bud” Joachim on June 27, 1953. Her working career continued with St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clair, where she served as bookkeeper for the church and school for 17 years. She was an active member of St. Mary’s, formerly serving on the funeral luncheon committee, Rosary Alter Society and Daughters of Isabella. In her spare time she would enjoy needlepoint, but her greatest joy in life was sharing time with her family, especially when the whole family would be together.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harry “Bud” Joachim; children, Harry “Joe” (Cindy) Joachim, Keith (Jill) Joachim, Barb (Mike) Carrell, John (Suzanne) Joachim and Rob (Laine Swierkosz) Joachim; grandchildren, Harry “Joey” Joachim, Chad (Pam) Joachim, Cody Joachim, Kaylee Joachim, Michael (Karynn) Carrell, Andrew Carrell, Jeremy Carrell, Kelsey Joachim, Rylie Joachim, MacKenzie Joachim, John Joachim, Robbie Joachim and Devin Joachim and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Joyce Roosen and Marie Kohlman.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday January 4th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Friday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Saturday 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at church prior to mass. A rosary recital will be Friday at 7:00 p.m.
