Jo Ann "Jo" Boyer's Obituary
Jo Ann “Jo” Boyer, age 72 of St Clair, passed away on April 29, 2016
She was a life-long resident of Harper Woods, MI until her retirement after 25 years as an emergency dispatcher for the Harper Woods Police Department.
Jo had many varied interests and friends she made from those same interests.
Jo enjoyed camping for many years with friends and family as part of the Mt Clemens Stinkers part of the NCHA.
She was a Girl Scout Leader.
She was also part of a monthly movie night group which has met for over 20 years and only missed a few months recently.
Jo was a member of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Inc. and spent many years riding her prized Yamaha Venture Royale all over the US and Canada.
In recent years she was part of the Harper Woods High School Alumni Association, The Harper Woods Retiree Association and the East China Beautification Committee. She was an avid learner and loved to take classes at the local libraries just for the fun of it.
Jo moved to St Clair to be closer to family and found her perfect little house on the St Clair River. Her joy there was to host parties for the 4th of July Fireworks, the St Clair boat races and have fires on the beach.
She is survived by her daughter Deanna L Kramm, son Richard C Boyer, son-in-law Louis R Kramm, daughter in-law Jonna A Boyer, grandson Louis A Kramm (Laura), granddaughter Brenna R Boyer, grandson Richard J Boyer. She is also survived by her sister Diane Hess, brother-in-law Gary, nephew Michael, and niece Lisa. Step-children & step grandchildren Kathy Walker (Mark) daughter Brittany, Cliff Porter (Christine) sons Drew & Jason daughter Nicole, Alana Walker (Jason) daughter Ayverie, Albert Porter (Kim) son Alex, daughter Tilly, Andy Porter daughter Grace & son Joey, Matt Morley daughter’s Madasyn & Alexa and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands Richard A Boyer & Albert Porter.
Cremation has taken place as Jo wished for no services, a private gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date.
