Mrs. Moose, Moose, and Nicholle,
When I heard the sad news and a zillion memories came flooding--I realized that all the memories had me laughing out loud. For some reason, the only way I picture Mr. Moose anymore is in his Nascar apron and oven mitts, holding grillin' tongs in one hand and a natty light in the other. It was after my dad had passed, and I was home from Arizona for a short visit and there he was, in his grillin' garb, knockin' on our back screen door inviting us over for a burger. As I was walking over to your backyard, he was sittin' up on the deck, and one of the dogs was so happy, it jumped up on me and I just so happened to be wearing a strapless dress and BAM! The dog pulled down my dress and out popped my boobs--luckily I had a bra on. Life was never a dull moment with Jeff, was it? He laughed so hard at the dog that day and I wasn't even embarrassed because you guys are like my parents. We laughed and laughed, and I here I sit laughing right now. My dad would always say "Jeff is happy as a pig in slop ridin' around on that damn mower."
I loved growing up with Moose and hanging out at your house. You guys always loved us kids and we could tell that you guys were always so proud of us kids--you always talked about what good kids we were and it is because we all had such great parents and great friends' parents who acted like our own.
I love you all so much and pray that you can find comfort in this grieving period.
xoxo

Dear Melissa and Family, I am so very sorry to hear about Jeff. What a good guy. I remember the kick he got out of me always telling him, "Are you sure you don't want it? It goes with it!" Rest in Peace, Jeff. Patti(Gallagher) Janis
