Jeffery James Vernier's Obituary
Jeffery James Vernier passed away May 17 at the age of 69 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on November 4, 1953, and he was a longtime resident of Marine City, Michigan.
Jeff was married to the love of his life, Kim, for 28 years. Unc was an employee at Cortis Brothers Trucking and Excavating as a heavy equipment operator for 30+ years, his 2nd home and family. A true believer in the spirit of Christmas, Jeff loved sharing that joy with family and friends over the years by hosting their “Annual Holiday Party”, looked forward to by all. Jeff enjoyed being outdoors and could always be counted on for some great canned tomatoes or a load of “cut” firewood, when needed. Many great memories were made while boating on the river, camping with grandchildren, vacations in Gatlinburg and throwing back a cold Bud-light…or 2!
Jeff is survived by his wife Kim (Annie) and their dog Dozer, his children Rachel (Mike) Booth, Christine Vernier (Nick Potvin, Fiancé), Brandi (Mike) Warner, his stepson Donnie (Heather) Vickers, sister Sandy (Ronnie) Davis, brother Joe (Sally) Vernier, brother Rick (Annette) Vernier, brother Robert Vernier, brother Paul (Merrie) Vernier and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Jeanette Vernier, brother Gordon Vernier, sister Rosemary Hampton and several nieces and nephews.
