The families of Jeff Werner Rechel will be celebrating the lifetime memories of Jeff with our family & friends on February 13, 2021 at 17:00 EST (5:00 p.m. for everybody else). Due to that “dam COVID-19” and the expected northern deep freeze in Michigan, we have decided that celebrating remotely on a digital platform will ensure the safety and comfort for those interested in participating in this celebration. In-lieu of flowers, we request that participants acquire suitable digital devices for accessing the ZOOM meeting platform and request your nearest “tech yuppie” to assist in settin’ you up for this zoom party. We also request that you gather up your favorite party snacks, beverages and spirits prior to Saturday evening’s party to fulfill Jeff’s wishes of “Turn on my favorite tunes and have a kegger”. The zoom party will begin accepting entry at 4:30 p.m., begin at 5:00 p.m. and go until the “cows come home”. And for once… you don’t have to hear “the party is over, you don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here”. We will begin the celebration with memories and tributes from the immediate family, followed by a few key life time friends and then we will open up to individual requests for toasts. Please prepare your toast and limit it about 2 - 3 minutes so that we all may enjoy these memories. You are welcome to come and go as you please through-out the evening. If you are unable to participate on Saturday evening, please feel free to pre-record a voice or video message toast and submit it “Tech yuppie Mark” prior to Noon Saturday, so that we can share it at the party. We welcome you to share this announcement with other friends that may be interested in participating as well.
We will be digitally recording this live event to preserve and archive these memories to share with our families, future generations and friends. We request that participants limit profanities and refrain from sensitive subject matter that may be offensive to others or excessively inappropriate for minors. Those types of memoirs will be invited and honored by scheduling a private meeting with the family at a later date.
