Jeffery B. "Gator" Mead's Obituary
Jeffery B. "Gator" Mead, age 64, of St. Clair, passed away March 30, 2024. He was born March 22, 1960 in St. Clair to the late Kenneth and Wanda Mead.
He graduated from St. Clair High School in 1979. After graduation he proudly served with the U.S. Army. Jeff enjoyed his time stationed in Germany and would talk about that often.
He was a member of the Blue Water Offshore Racing Association. He volunteered for over 25 years helping bring the annual boat race to St. Clair. Jeff was also a very active member of Msgr. Kromenaker Knights of Columbus 2251, St. Clair. Gator always took on the task of waxing the floors there and made sure it was done right.
Jeff was a huge Red Wings fan and Nascar fan and always watched them as well as U of M football. He also enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and the Three Stooges and singing karaoke at parties with friends. He always made sure to tell his grandkids that he loved them.
Gator always enjoyed his time with friends and reminiscing of their younger years and growing up in St. Clair. He will be missed on the Wednesday night golf "league" that he also enjoyed.
He really took great pride in being a bridge operator for the City of St. Clair for many years.
He is survived by his children; Ali (Robert) Kaczperski and Brad Mead.
He is also survived by his grandchildren; Joanna, Emma, Leigha, Jesse, Jaxson and Orion, as well as his cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother; Steven Mead, sister; Judy Keegan, nephew; Brian Keegan and niece; Kelly Keegan.
