Janet L. Sheffler's Obituary
Janet L. (Ingles) Sheffler, age 74, of Kimball Twp., formerly of St. Clair, died October 11, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 2, 1937 in Lansing to the late Frank and Madge Carfore.
Janet graduated from Port Huron High School in 1954. She married Fred H. Ingles in 1955, he preceded her in death in 1973. She married Robert Sheffler December 27, 1974.
Janet was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair and a member of the church choir for over 25 years. She was also a member of Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church, Estero, Florida and also a member of their church choir. Janet was the female athlete of the year (GAA) at Port Huron High School from 1951 to 1954. Her most prized possession were her grandchildren, as she loved attending all their events.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years Robert Sheffler, children; Gregory (fiance Pam) Ingles, Catherine "Casey" (Mike) Bogan, Daniel (Terri) Ingles, Steve (Nancy) Sheffler, Jeff (Tammy) Sheffler and Jeff (Marlene) Ingles, daughter in law; Kelly (Steve) Ingles-Skarbek, grandchildren; Brad, Krystal, Kalicia (fiance Joe), Daniel (Rayann), Jeremy (Jenny), Justin (fiance Mandy), Hannah, Susan (fiance Zander), Christopher, Jeffery, Jason, Freddie, Jacob, Cameo (Chris), Jeffrey, Derek (Melinda) and Spencer, great grandchildren; Brody, Gracie, Lyla, Lily and Bella, brother; Richard Carfore, sister; Betty Middleton, sisters in law and brothers in law; Kay Blake, Marylou Westrick, Patty (Joe) Closs, Jackie (Rick) Hahn, Tom (Bunny) Sheffler, Jim (Lori) Sheffler and Warren Sheffler and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son; Fred H. Ingles Jr., sister in law; Luella Carfore, brothers in law; Dennis Sheffler, James Blake and James "Slim" Westrick.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Janet's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visiting hours are Saturday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Monday 10:00 to 11:00 at the church prior to mass. A rosary will be said Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
