Janet H. McCartney's Obituary
Janet H. McCartney, age 71, of St. Clair, passed away June 20, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in St. Clair to the late Earl and Pat McCartney on December 10, 1951.
Janet retired from the State of Michigan after many years of service.
She was an avid athlete and played many different sports growing up. She volunteered to coach one of the first girls All Star teams for St. Clair Little League. Janet also loved boating on OTHER people's boats.
She is survived by her brothers and sister; Steve (Connie) McCartney, Tom (Nereide) McCartney, Dan (Stephanie) McCartney, Mike (DeAnn) McCartney, Annie McCartney-Cooper and Earl (Emily) McCartney.
She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Wes, Steve, Jeff, Erika, Patrick, Stephanie, Monica, Matt, Heather, Ashley, Rachel, Robert, Katie, Mike, Sara, Ryan, Amber and Hailey, along with many great nieces and nephews, relative, friends and her furry friend; Elvis.
She was preceded in death by her niece; Ashley Cooper Brenner.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 23 at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the services.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews; Stevie, Erika, Monica, Matt, Katie and Hailey.
