Jan was passionate about Her Lord Jesus Christ, her family, and helping others. She came to know Christ as her Savior in 1976 and she spent the last 39 years fervently living her Faith and touching many, many lives. She embodied Matthew 25:37-40. She fed the hungry, housed the homeless, visited nursing homes, hospitals and prisons and nurtured the hurting and downtrodden. She once drove to Guatemala in order to transport supplies for a missionary. She mentored numerous people through Bible studies in her home and was actively involved in Cross Current Church for many years where she and Richard served as greeters. She was present in so many areas of her husband’s and children’s lives. She spent many afternoons cheering on the St. Clair Saints Football, Baseball and Softball teams while Richard “Coach Mal” coached. She attended and cheered on her children in their activities. They always knew mom was in the stands, auditorium or theater. After building stalls for her granddaughter’s horses, Jan loved watching Autumn ride. For her extended family, she planned gatherings and prepared delicious meals and amazing pies. Jan absolutely adored any and all babies and as a doula she helped welcome more than 20 babies into the world including three of her grandchildren and a great niece.
Cremation has taken place and the family will receive friends at Jan’s Celebration of Life on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 6 to 7pm in Cross Current Church of Port Huron.
