Fr. James Wysocki's Obituary
Father James Wysocki, age 81, of Harsens Island, lived his life to the fullest and joined the Lord on November 29, 2022. He was born on December 12, 1940 to the late John and Emily Wysocki.
Jim was ordained in 1967. During his tenure, he served for several different churches. In his spare time, Jim was an avid sailor. He sailed all over the Great Lakes, even participating in the Mackinac race a few times. He was well traveled. Jim enjoyed taking trips all over the world. He will forever be remembered as a personable man who loved people.
He is survived by his siblings, Chris Levy, Rose Kirchoff, Joan Smith, Chuck (Nancy) Wysocki, Peter Wysocki, Mary Jo Powell, Susan (Tony) Conte, Cathy (Mark) Gushanas, as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Jack Wysocki.
A memorial mass will take place on Tuesday, December 13th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Algonac. There will be one hour of visiting prior to mass from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Memorials are suggested to Capuchin Food Kitchen, Detroit or Christ the King School, Detroit.
Also, in August of 2023, the Wysocki family is having a family reunion, where they will have another celebration of life for Jim. They invite anyone willing and able to attend the celebration of life and final interment for Jim. Dates and times will be posted at a later date.
