James E. Westrick's Obituary
James E. Westrick, age 86, of Marine City, passed away May 2, 2018 at home with his family at his side. He was born April 16, 1932 in Marine City to Ervin and Agnes Westrick. On February 27, 1960 James married Ann Marie Ruemenapp in Anchorville.
Jim was owner operator of Westrick Excavating for over 50 years. He was a founding member of the Cottrellville Planning Commission, for which he served on for 40 years. Jim loved travelling. He and Ann enjoyed trips to New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Canada, Central America, Thailand, Singapore, Europe, and also visited all 50 states.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Westrick; daughter, Gayle (John) Westendorp; son, James (Michelle) Westrick; grandchildren, Dan (Meghan) Westendorp, Rachel Westendorp and Megan, Lauren and Jeremy Westrick; sister, Dorothy (Dave) Schweihofer; brother, Robert (Joan) Westrick; sisters in law, Christine Plegue, Cecelia Plass and Irene Schweiger and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Jim is preceded in death by a brother, William Westrick; sister in law, Marion Ignesiak and brother in law, Roy Reumenapp.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday May 7th at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Our Lady on the River Parish, Marine City. Visitation prior to mass will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at church.
