James A. Strachan (Jimmy), age 53, of Clay Township, died unexpectedly Saturday August 16th. He is survived by his wife Barbara and constant companion, Gracie, step son, Grant Jr.(Bri) Achatz, grandsons; Kaden and Keller, mother; Read Obituary
Jim was a great friend. He and I worked together for 4 years. In that time we became good friends. Anyone that knows Jim would agree that he was a good man. Jim volunteered for two of our daughters graduation open houses where he worked hard serving and greeting people. My sons and I will never forget the great times we had hunting together. Jim had a firm belief in Jesus Christ so I know someday we'll meet again. Until then, rest easy my friend.
I have known Jim forever, my sister and he were first loves and I was in love with him too! He had the most beautiful blue eyes and he was a big brother to me. He taught me how to water ski.
When I was young he came up north with my family for a week and it was then that I remember him being such a great influence to me. My family, "the Maiers" will miss Jim dearly and will pray for the strength of the entire family. Too Good, Too Soon! Xoxo
While we did not truly know Jimmy other than from his pizza store, our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. Deepest sympathy from the Perrin and McBrayer families.
My husband Dan has been friends with Jim since childhood. My first meeting with Jim and Barb was while I first was dating Dan . The four of us sat for hours while Jim and Dan reminisced about their escapades . Ive never laughed so hard in my life. They shared so much fishing and hunting, as well as boating. There are no words to express how much he will be missed by us. He was a part of our family. We loved him dearly.
