James Schweihofer's Obituary
James Louis Schweihofer, 86, died March 12, 2011 at home with his family. He was born October 3, 1924 in St. Clair to Aloysius and Dorothy Schweihofer. He married Beatrice (Pat) Adamson on January 15, 1949. He was a WWII veteran (DAV) and a Purple Heart recipient. Jim owned and operated Jim Schweihofer Concrete Floors and was a member of the Knights of Columbus #2251. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin, golfing, gardening, playing cards and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, children Tony (Nancy), John (Penny), Gerald (Ann), Janet (Tony) Distelrath, Betty (Jerry) McLeod, Kenny (JoAnn), Eileen (Mark) Rumbaugh, Paul (Debbie), Mary (Joe) Thibert, Bill (Nancy), 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, brothers Pete (Ann), Ben (Ann), Dave (Dorothy), sisters Mary Rhein, Joan (John) Paling, Josephine Long, Annette (Bob) Burgess, brother-in-law Joe Wathen, sister-in-law Donna Schweihofer, and sister-in-law Doris (Phil) Cataldo and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandsons Jimmy and Scotty Rumbaugh, Adam Schweihofer, and Matthew McLeod, brothers Joseph and Francis, and sister Dorothy Wathen.
Services will be held Wednesday, March 16 at 9:15 a.m. at Young Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clair. Visitation will be Monday, March 14 from 6-9:00 p.m., Tuesday March 15 1-3:00 p.m., and 6-9:00 p.m., with the Rosary at 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery with military honors.
