James R. "Woody" Allor's Obituary
James R. “Woody” Allor, age 53, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2021. He was born on June 13, 1968 to the late Charles and Loretta Allor. Woody was a graduate of Marine City High School class of 1986. Following high school, Woody enlisted to be in the United States Marines, where he proudly served his country for 4 years as an engine equipment operator. During his 4 years of service Woody was stationed in Japan as well as Yuma, Arizona, where he was honorably discharged. Woody married Elizabeth “Betsy” Zimmer on April 26, 1997, who preceded him in death on September 1, 2005. He worked as a machinist for BTM for 25 years, as well as several other companies, he was most recently employed by PTM. Woody enjoyed his greyhounds. He would adopt/rescue former racing dogs and care for them. Woody loved cars, history, movies, traveling, and weekly meals at Pepe’s Pizza.
He is survived by his daughter, Jeanine Allor; siblings, Phil Allor, Elizabeth (Rick) Waltman-Allor; In-laws, Patty (Bob) Whitehead, Ben (Denice) Zimmer, Lucy (Fonz) Olivera, Jenny Sherman, as well as several special nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Allor.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3rd at 12:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment at Rosehill Cemetery, East China Twp where military honors will be conducted.
