Mr. James G. Meinheit's Obituary
James G. Meinheit, age 92, of East China Twp., died June 26, 2014. He was born June 21, 1922 in Falls City, Nebraska to the late Will and Hattie Meinheit. James married Lucretia M. Nixon on May 18, 1946 in Hiawatha, Kansas. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2013.
Mr. Meinheit served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a steam engineer for the Detroit Public Schools for 30 years.
She is survived by a son, James (Connie) Meinheit, grandchildren, Jennifer Inwood, Mya (Steve) Beauvais, Rayna Meinheit, Melissa Wickersham, Amanda (Tony) Pelitti and the Taylor family, great grandchildren Andrew and Caitlin Inwood and Zaena Beauvais, and sister, Dolly Garland.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deann Sue Umlauf.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday July 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair.
Visiting hours are Monday 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.
